楽天カードから、マネーロンダリング対策として、在留カードを提出してください、と夫宛てにメール。
提出方法はオンラインと郵送の２つ。
もちろん推奨はオンラインだが、この楽天のサイトが本当に最悪だった。
何度やってもエラー。
自分の携帯が悪いのかと思って、全てのアップデートもやった。
アンドロイドの携帯を親戚に借りようかとも思った。
日本語で検索しても、同じような不具合は報告されていない。
英語で検索すると、メールが送られたであろう日付から24時間以内に20件以上のコメントがRedditという外国の２ちゃんみたいなサイトで口コミが。
みんな同じ症状で困っていた。
結果、なんとかオンラインで提出できたので、誰かの役にたつかもしれないコツを書いておく。
１．メールのリンクが壊れている
楽天からのメールは日本語と英語で書かれており、英語のリンクは末尾に余分な文字数時がくっついていて、本来のリンクではないサイトに行ってしまうことがある。
クリックして飛んだページのURLが、メール本文に張り付いているURLと末尾が同じか確認すると良い。私の場合、日本語のURLはOkだった。
２．パスワードを入れても、ログインボタンがグレーのままで押せない。
パスワードを入れたら、スペースを入れてそのスペースを削除。そうするとボタンが赤くなりログインできる。
３．スマホを横向きにしてもカメラが横向きにならない。
はい、あなたの携帯のせいじゃないです。
ログインページの段階からスマホを横向きにして、横向きのブラウザ画面でログインすればOk。
４．何度やってもエラーになる。
私も50回くらい失敗した。
窓の近くで午前中の自然光が入る状態で、暗い背景の上にカードを置いて撮影。
私は、濃い緑の工作マット（カッターで何か切るときに下に敷くゴム製のやつ）の上でやった。
撮影が成功すると、リングがくるくる回るので、それまでは手を動かさない。
リングが回り始めたら、そのまま静止し、その状態で裏面も撮影。
５．読み取りがエラー。
せっかく撮影が成功しても、読み取られた情報が違う場合あり。
私の場合は、在留資格が永住者なのに、「医療」と読み取られた。
修正方法はないので、もう一度撮影。
ここで確認しないと、せっかくオンラインで提出しても、再提出になる。
ほんと日本のIT技術の低さを垣間見て、うんざりだった。
外国人勢は、紙の提出の方が簡単だよ、というコメントでみんなそうするっぽい。

Ok, now you found my hidden blog, which means you are having a problem with the submission of your residence card to Rakuten credit card. I did it for my non-Japanese husband and just had an awful experience. At the end, I succeded but had failed about 50 times. I share with you some tricks that you may want to try.
1. URL is broken so that your log-in fails.
Check the URL on the browser address bar exactly matches the one provided on the email. In my case, when I clicked the URL in the English part, some unnecessary symbols were added to the URL. Delete those or try the URL in the Japanese part of the email.
2. The log-in button is greyed-out.
After you copy and paste the password, add a space at the end, then delete the space that you just addded. This will turn the log-in button red.
3. The camera window on the phone screen does not rotate 90 deg when I rotate the smart phone.
Hold the smartphone horizontally before log-in and keep the browser page horizontal till the end of the process. It is too late if you rotate the phone after the log-in. It is due to their poor software.
4. Error after error. Cannot take a photo.
I failed about 50 times. When I suceeded, I put the card on a dark background (I used a dark green rubber cutting mat) and took photos near the window with a natural morning light. Leave some margins within the window (ie. the card not 100% fitted with the window).
When it suceeds, you will see a spinning ring apearing. Hold the camera until you see it and stay still if you see it. Then quickly take the rear side of the card in that hand position.
5. The reading is incorrect.
Even after photos are taken successfully, you should check if the reading is correct against your residence card. In my case, the status written in kanji was read incorrectly. So I needed to take another photo after failing so many times again.
All in all, it is a sh!te website. Whoever wrote and tested the site is not up to the job.
You have an option to submit a photocopy of the card by post but you can try the above before giving in.
